That Mushy Mushy Girl

Guys, I don’t even know where to start, its been a longggggg time. I hope you all have been good? Hmmm, I’m here to talk about my favourite topic ever, LOVE. I love love and if you’ve been following my blog, you should know that by now.

This morning while gisting with an older married colleague, somehow, we drifted into marriage talk. He flat out told me, he’s not a romantic man, that he’s a real African man who doesn’t believe in lovey-dovey, neither does he believe in the expression of love. Read More »

The Past Comes Calling: A Short Story

My name is Sarah and I am here to share my story. A story of love, pain and regret. This will be my first time sharing this; the pain in my heart has been too great to bear and after several sessions with my counsellor I feel I need to share; it may reduce the pain in my heart.

Be Angry but do not Sin

Yesterday morning, I was going through Shaderoom, reading and watching videos about the different protests going on. I was watching and just crying; profusely crying. Everything I saw made me extremely sad.

I didn’t know how much it affected me until I’ll come across a white person’s page and I’ll feel this intense hate towards the person. In my mind, I’ll be like, “I know you hate me now because of the colour of my skin”.

My countenance changed, and I was hostile towards people and cold. It was then it occurred to me, this is a foul spirit and immediately I said, “you foul spirit out in the name of Jesus” and immediately I was free. My spirt became light and I was happy again.

This incident was another reason that led me to this.

We must protect our mental health, protect our spirit man with the things we feed our spirit.

I’m a big advocate of being watchful over the gates to our spirit. I fed my spirit with bad news and by so doing, I invited a foul spirit over.

The protests/movements aren’t aimed to cause sadness rather it is aimed at empowering the weak and voiceless, we should not forget that.

Also, in these times, it is easy to let our anger turn to hate. Hate as with Love can be learned, we should please not let our grieve and hurt make us hate the same people God commanded us to love.

The bible says in Ephesians 4:26 (TPT), But don’t let the passion of your emotions lead you to sin! Don’t let anger control you or be fuel for revenge, not for even a day.

It’s very easy to seek revenge on our “supposed” enemies, due to pain and hurt, but the permission to be angry does not involve the permission to sin.

1 Peter 3:9 (TPT), Never retaliate when someone treats you wrongly, nor insult those who insult you, but instead, respond by speaking a blessing over them—because a blessing is what God promised to give you.

If we respond to hate and hurt by hate, we’ll go nowhere. Change only comes when we respond to hate with love. The world is desperately in need of love, only love can change the world. And the onus is on us to show a broken world, an unbroken love that comes from Christ.

What am I trying to say? We shouldn’t consume more news than we do the Word, if not hate, bitterness and revenge will rule our hearts and minds.

We should be very careful so we don’t become bitter angry people; that’s the easiest thing to do.

We should be careful that the things we do are not founded on bitterness but Love.

Bitterness will destroy our peace, purpose, and productivity, we shouldn’t be bitter, but pour out our heart to the almighty. Seek out ways with which we can positively change that which hurts us and use our position & power to influence the world not with anger/pain but with the Word of God which brings peace, hope, and more importantly love.

CLOSE THE DOOR TO THAT LION

This morning, I was “looking for my sister’s trouble”. I did everything to get on her nerves, but babe completely ignored me. When I finally let her be, it occurred to me, this is exactly how the devil operates.

1 Peter 5:8 NKJV, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

The devil is a bully, that’s the summary of all he does. It says in our reading that the enemy is a roaring lion looking for who to devour, he’s searching for, if you give him the opportunity, he’ll find you, bully you, if you fall for it, he devours you.

He’s roaming about looking for his next victim, someone to make afraid, someone to camouflage God’s blessing before, someone to doubt God’s promises, he’s looking for someone to intimidate.

Do not give a place for the enemy in your life. When he gives you suggestions, when he tries to remind you of your past; when fear seems to take over your heart, SHUT him up immediately.

When he tangles evil desires & lust in front of you, send him back to where he belongs.

You’ll have to be discerning & watchful to recognize his tactics. Remember that he is powerless.

The devil can only be in one place at a time, only God is omnipresent. If you give him attention, he stays, if you don’t, he takes off. He can’t devour everyone, only those who permit him.

If you give the enemy a place in your life, you only have yourself to blame. We’re inexcusable.

If you have allowed the enemy a place in your life already, it’s not too late to send him packing. The blood of Jesus has given us authority, all you need to do is to believe and speak the Word. We do not fight from a place of defeat, we fight from a place of victory. Hallelujah.

Hello everyone. I keep sounding like a broken record when I say, long time, lol. But it’s being a while. How have you guys been? How did you cope during the lockdown? How are you doing?

I have been doing great, apart from the occasional downtime. But I have been good.

DOZIE MY LOVER

I remember that day; I was visiting Derin, my cousin, at her office in VI. I was in the waiting area, seated across a window, overlooking a large body of water. I had never seen the colour of water but for that day, it was blue, I was fixated on it, enjoying the calmness and peace it brought me. I noticed the beauty of the waves, how slow it was. For the first time that day, I was calm, nothing seemed to matter at that moment, I was mesmerised by the joy the river brought. Read More »

A LETTER TO THE MATURE SINGLE LADY

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, I hope you all are doing exceptionally well? I personally I’m not, but I’ll be fine. Today’s post is dedicated to Mature Single Ladies, when I say mature I mean from the age of thirty (30) and above.

Age 30 is the age, that people begin to pray unsolicited marriage prayers for you, your parents begin to wonder what the hell is wrong with you, most of your mates are married with some having at least two(2) children, age 30 is that age in this country where people treat your singleness as an abomination.

Paternity Fraud in Nigeria

Hello everyone, I hope we all had a great holiday, today I will like to talk about Paternity fraud. Before I delve into my thoughts about this trending topic, let’s define what Paternity fraud is.

Paternity fraud is the pretence that a man is the legitimate and biological father of a child. It usually occurs when a woman deliberately misidentifies a man as the biological and legitimate father of her child. This fraudulent act led the man to believe a biological connection with a child of another man and sometimes remain undetected for several years. In most cases, women are often aware that the presumed biological father is not genetically linked with the child. Read More »
